The main topic will be new valve train and cam profiles. There will also be some cars on the dyno(maximum 10 cars), light lunch and coffee, a lots of discusions with people from different countries and dinner at restaurant in the evening. Sign in at www.jpmotorsport.se before 28/9-2009. I will later post hotel booking info. Looking forward to see you. Johannes Persson

Hi there,
It is closing up for the DD and the gates opens 10 o'clock.
For those of you who haven't emailed me about what to eat at Dynonight, please let me know, the restaurant needs the info.
See you soon.

This was by far the best Dyno Day ever I think. Johannes talked us through how the one cylinder R&D engine had shown him the need for NEW cam designs for the stroker engines of the VW world. Turns out that just imitating how VW did it on the non strokers is to easy, as a stroker's valve train expands much more than VW's engines, giving you to big clearances, and thereby giving the valvesprings an impossible task... usually you add spring untill it copes with the grind. By using state of the art cam designing software he has managed to get the accelerations of the ramps under control, while retaining both duration and lift of any given grind. His new Raptor CNC grinds allow you to run 70 lbs in the seat and 170 lbs over the top!!, and still spin 7500 rpm on a "standard" 229hp street engine! Granted, this is with a light valve train, but still, the benefits would still be there with heavier parts. The added benefits was it freed up a lot of HP which otherwise would be transferred into heat by the springs.
This is all taken from my memory so it might be a bit "off".... but I felt the game changing while I stood there... you don't get that feeling to often...
Thanks for having us Johannes!
