Maybe it’s a high time to put my bug in here.

It's 1969 spar kafer. I bought it in 2006 (as my 2nd beetle). After a while I bolted a lowered beam 2" narrow, put in it a 1600 on twin dellortos and went to UK.
There after bug jam 21 my heads and crank were dead and finished on a pile of carp next to Paul's garage. Then I build 1776 with all the VWSS goodies over one night Cheesy after small accident with the camshaft (my fault I must confess). Here very big thanks to Paul Hamilton for His big help and grate patience for me and my shiter, Thanks Man for everything.
Before trip back form UK it had 66,6 PS on wheels and with that power it was making 17,74 on 1/4 mile (shit I know - the driver sucks Cheesy).
After a while the high time came for the rear end to be cut off. That was done by my friend Rafal form www.rodents.pl of corse he did great job (as always).
After that I've put some CR up to horrendous 8,6 Cheesy to one. And some porting in the heads by myself what helped me to do 16,199 on 1/4 on 28th of September 2008. (all with fan belt muffler and all the gear in the car) - Still the driver sucks Grin
This year I bought finally the set of wheels that I was seeking for long long time: baby burners, thanks to Mick from Kinkymicks.com.
(Gecko Cup 2009)
The bug got a set of Lighten Weight Day Moldings wings, set of 155/80 and 185/80 Veredesteins sprint classics, Summit line lock (for fun) and a new oil system (30mm shadeck with VWSPEEDSHOP pressure relief cover, 8 pipe oil cooler with fan) some tine ware in the engine bay, Pertronix distributor with Ignitor II and VWSPEEDSHOP stainless twist style linkage.
All the time on VWSPEEDSHOP exhaust system (1 5/8” merged header and 2,5” Turbo muffler).
Breather system is a VWSPEEDSHOP breather tube with fancy VWSS fuel pump cover (really beauty) Cheesy.
He needs painting and few finishing touches here and there.
Hope it will be finished before 27th of September (last drag racing event during this season in Poland).
Photos from a dyno day I organized on 5th of September:

The dyno results (after 1 year of shut down – no adjustments Cheesy)

engine bay:

My beautiful shity interior  (artistic horror)

And the best one Cheesy what to do when your fuel tank is 150km from you Cheesy? Use any thing you’ve got Cheesy
The car looks as a pile of crap Cheesy I know but I hope it will look like before or better:

Sorry for that horror I served  You in this post Cheesy
Cheers Tom.

so we are afther some drag racing this weekend.

the fotorelation will be soon on cal-look.pl ( at the moment check out the http://www.california-look.blog.pl/ Rebel's blog)
I'm hapy with the times I achived Smiley
I begun as I came to the races:
15,873 @ 133,39 kmph
15,730 @ 133,41 kmph
than the fan belt off:
15,263 @ 137,34 kmph
than I put down the pressure in the rear tyres to 0,85 bar on the rear (but I f*** up the start totally):
15,616 @ 135,99 kmph
on the end I pumped the tyres to 2 bar and did my best time of the day:
15,201 @ 137,24 kmph
so I really happy I didn't suspect that I'll go into 15... I wanted to do 16's Cheesy but.... something happened.
so low 15's is a good end of the sezon Cheesy and nice birthday pezent (a little late but... whatever)

I have to thanx all the frineds that were there with me (Rebel, Baca and Qcyk) and also guys from www.rodents.pl who helped me with broken middle gearbox mount (during the garrrage party night before racing - totally drunk Cheesy) but the job is 1st calss.
thanx Smiley

the engine is the same (1776, 040 heads 35,5x32, W110, 1,1:1 rockers, SpeedShop 1 5/8" header and 2,5" turbomuffler standar flywheel regrounded stock crank and rods Cheesy) so just typical shiter Cheesy build during night.

That's it. We race only on airfields at the moment with VHT on the track (not always unfourtunetly).
At the moment SSS (the organization that hold the best drag racing events in Poland and also some drag racing abroad www.sss.org.pl ) has a propper timing system (Race America). I hope There will be propper drag strip one day in Poland.

All races from abroad are welkome on polish racing events. Its a nice place to visit and hot polish woman make the stay the best Cheesy

Hope to see some bugs here in Polsnd one day from abroad.

Thankx very much, a lot left to do.

the wheels are 155/80 and 185/80 veredesteins sprit classic.
the rear are quite sticky.
The whils are really nice I was looking for them for a whille but of corse if You've got dropped spindles, there is a problem with clerance between the lower balljoint and The inner rimm of the wheel. gotta make a cone drilling which is quite expensive 2 wholes cost me aprox 95E. But it was worth it. Just proper polishing left to do and some caps to order and I hope it will look as I always wonted to.
and another thing the gearbox... cuz its having really hard times since 2006 on the strip and everyday use.
