those guys that use one..do you use the standard vw pressure sender because the autometer sender flicks the light on at 18 psi and below ?

Yep. Itīs just a lightbulb in fancy wrapping. Will work exactly like the one in your speedometer.

In my race car I had a side repeater light on top of the dash, piggybacked into the speedo. There are some nice side repeaters with chrome rings, like a small Lucas 488, if you look carefully at the breakers...
