The tyre centre I use tore my 205 70 15 putting it back on my 6" fuch

It is a Fuchs, not Fuch.

The reason they damaged the tyre is because they don't know what they are doing.  You have early deep 6s.  Next time you get tyres mounted, tell them to flip the wheel over on the machine and mount the tyre from the backside.  If you look at the rim profile, the drop center is further from the front side than it is from the back side.  Mounting from the front causes much more stress on the tyre, as you've found out.  Of course, you'll have to make sure their rim clamps don't damage your wheels.  Many tyre shops have plastic jaw protectors for their tyre machines.

This problem is why Fuchs changed the design of the wheel into the late flat 6 design.
