forgive me for my ignorance Gunter, but I'm twisting my head over my screen trying to figure out what this part is meant for.
my best guess is bolting the lower front axle tube to the pan Huh

no probs, i have been digging info for them for quite some time...i wana know why exactly they were fitted with these in certain countries...i am really glad you are making them now.

Gunter, see this pic. actually, in the kit there should be 2 more pieces of the square washers, approximately 3 or 4 mm thick,  think they act like washers as the holes on the bars itself is slightly bigger than the bolts.

i got mine from scrap yard, hence i dint get the washers

also there is a Country Buggy Australian version of these

they would work for linkpin beam only as the axle tubes are closer to each other then on balljoint beam

then there is a Thing/Trekker/181 version, modyfying of the beam - welding is necessary

and suddenly there is a crappy EMPI version

They prevent the beams from bending at heavy braking (causing change in steering geometry) for example

CSP Axle Brace Bars
The new CSP brace bars for all VW Beetle and Karmann Ghia (Type-14)with link pin or ball joint axle is based on the original special equipment of the sixties and seventies.
It improves axle rigidity and road performance amazingly.
It is a must have - not only for customized cars! It works also in connection with adjustable front beams and caster shims.
Extensively made of 3mm steel it is black powder coated for best overall appearance.

enjoy

the empi ones were rubbish, I cut mine to pieces and re-made a front brace using bits from them. They just wouldn't fit at all!
