The children's book, "The Homeless Christmas Tree" is about a sparse mimosa tree
atop a hill on Interstate Highway 30 near downtown Fort Worth, Texas. For years, this tree
was lovingly decorated by an anonymous woman as a gift to the homeless in the city.

In 2001, a local newspaper reported that the woman was Carla Christian, who began
decorating the tree in 1995 as a reminder that people should make time for those less fortunate.
