Hi Fabs,

great topic! Back then there sure have been a lot of cool cars which didn't get the attention they deserved compared to the famous cars we all know.

Don't want to hijack your thread, but does anybody know until when exactly sedan-based cars racing NHRA gas-classes needed to be equipped with a push bar if bumpers were not fitted?

Saludos,

The stinger exhaust would definitely make push starting difficult.
Lil Bugger has "attention caution exhaust" written in German on the decklid.

Driving Hot VWs for 44 Years Strong!

The SNG Chopped sedan was owned by Stephen Nathanial Godfrey, or as we know him, Steve Godfrey who started Station One here in Phoenix.

The LIL RED car was one and the same. The chopped version was obviously the laster version of the sedan. The picture you posted of it in the staging lanes is one that I took and posted a long time ago on one of these forums. I have the original negatives of the shot.

Hi fabs, good work as usual buddy Grin

I really like the paintwork on the SNG car, think it's got the right balance of restrained & in 'yer face at the same time if that makes any sense.. Roll Eyes

Funny you mentioned white lightening / flakey jake, we were just looking at it this afternoon & discussing its previous life!
Cheers,
Kev

Looks all late to me, Fabs. Notice the fuel door, and the slim '65+ window pillars...
