Driving Hot VWs for 44 Years Strong!

« on: February 27, 2010, 16:52:05 pm »

I am amazed how much my grandkids are enamored by VWs and my VW Magazines.  Every time we have a sleep over for the grandkids, they have to see all my VW stuff.  Great to know there is another generation of kids that love the VW Bug.  Here are a couple shots of my favorite pictures of two of my grandkids reading HOT VWs magazine. They are two little blue eyed blondies who love my bug stuff.

That's great. I am slowly corrupting my two nieces (4 & 7) by giving them VW toys. They told me they like those better than "girl" toys. On the other hand, I offered to let my nine year old nephew to come over and help me work on the buggy but he was not interested. dunno.  Undecided

Louis,

My daughter Shanna was the car love of my kids.  My son was more into sports.  Shanna paints cars and really has a great mechanical mind. Right now she is in Med School but I know she will own the VW of her dreams later when out of school and employed.  No harm in the ladies being VW motor heads too.

Great thread..... My daughter (age5) is now wanting a 67 like my son (age8), what have i done..... anyway its easy as my wife has a last edition 78 built in Endem at the end of production and it was her first car 22 years ago and she still has it.... so VW blood runs think in our house too. Great when the kids love it makes it even more fun.  Smiley

that is just beautiful...  youngin's turning into VW's early..

i remember when my baby bro was between 4-6

all he took care of  , with his boxes of tiny hotwheels, was the few bugs he had,  they wer special , he always did park them neatly on his desk, and if its a different brand? its just stashed next to it.. upside down..

turned 8 last year november, he is now in charge of starting up my bug  during the morning bfor he goes to school

he actually lifts the engine bay bfor start up.. jsut to want to see it..

some things that are priceless and u smile  for it

Speedwell,

Great shots!  Its all about keeping the hobby alive...even through the ladies.  The CHOP TOP I have right now I picked up from a gal named Lori.  She was a die hard VW lover too.

Lisa,

Long live the DEEKETTE's and their love for VW's.  As young as my grandaughters are, I hope there are still bugs around when they get to be our age. They will be like model  A's or vintage fords by that time.

Great shot with the cross-country skis and the really cool sweatshirt. Now my grandaughter wants one of the pink sweat shirts like the one in this picture.

I'm taking my better half's daughter to the Volksworld show in a few weeks, her first bug experience involves 48s spinning a close ratio box, bit different from mine sat in the back of my Grandad's '67 1500  Smiley After her first show last year, I think we may have another convert, and reason for me to buy a project  Grin
