For the NSU engine I am building a 2165 CC I have a 78 MM crank I won a few years ago at the Berg rally and was donated by A J Sims. Berg heads big valves turbo cam with bronze lifter bore modification 1.4 CB rocker arms. Full flow with tall 48 IDA Webers and cross bar linkage. Lightened flywheel from CB with a Kennedy stage 2 pressure plate. Scat fan shroud with welded fan. Distributor Bosch 010 and the exhaust will have to be custom built to fit the engine compartment.

Not too much to speak of but this is the only progress done last weekend with the holidays made it difficult to do any type of work on the car. This weekend should have the rear trailing arms done. I was told that by mid summer the car will be a roller. So these are the only few pictures I took last weekend. The transmission shown here is the one that Dean Lowry had in his super beetle Bonneville car when he started on building his car the trans is stock. This week I will be working on the cv joints axles cleaning them and ready to shortening them to the proper lenght. I decided to install CB disc brakes in front.

Hey Frenchy,
Did you ever contact Eric Vaughn about narrowing some 14" FUCHs alloys for the front of your NSU? He is so accurate that one of my wheels was a perfect balance with the tire mounted on it...NO WEIGHTS! His workmanship and welding reminds me of Sil's.

I should be able to fit them with no problems. You can see the first few pictures at the beginning of the post where the drums fit with no problems on the inside of the wheels. Frenchy

I have a few pictures to post I took yesterday. We will install the fuel tank in front instead of behind the driver seat much safer. I will post more pictures as soon as I have more.

Here a few more pictures of this past weekend. I will have to buy diffrent tires for the rear as they are to tall and are rubbing on the inside of the fender well. I have now 185 x 14 I will have to go to a lower profile. We just have the front tire under the fenders to see how far in we will have to narrow the beam.

Hi frenchy looks great. Just a idea, How about opening wheel arch's to match wheel diameters ? Would that help with tires rubbing ?

Danny I am going and buy 165x14 instead I like the fact that the tires are sitting way inside.

I had to offset the trans a little to make it fit nice, but one axle was 11.5 and the other was 12.5. I had bus CV's in it. Look at the 20 sec mark and you can see the setup I had orginally in the car -- using the modified stock arms
