A few miscellaneous questions: what do you torque the end bolts to solid rocker shafts to?
What is the necessary/proper way to set up sufficient breather system for a 2017... do I do both valve covers, or just the 1/2 side, plus the outlet on the oil filler? What's needed?
To what capacity is the stock fuel pump sufficient? What's the maximum it can handle?
What do you all seal your sumps with? I've heard stock oil change kit gasket, along with other sealants... just curious. Also, what do you torque the fasteners to?
What is the preferred main seal to use, red or black? I have an Elring kit with the red gasket, just wondering if that's sufficient?

Lol, it's been seven years since I built my 1776, and I can't remember what I torqued the solid shaft end bolts too... darn my poor memory.

Checked the Samba tech section, found nothing about proper torque for solid rocker shafts, or any of the other stuff. Anybody have any ideas?

do you put the shafts in a bench-vise when torquing those bolts? since they're round you see...

I put an 8mm stud in my vise and lock it down tight then put the shaft over the stud and torque the ends. You have to set everything up first then ensure you put it on the correct head of course.

Any further insight on the other questions, anyone? Extent of breather needs, capacity of stock mechanical fuel pump, which main seal to use?

I'm still running stock fuel lines and pump with IDA's...12.9 seconds at 104 MPH.
I use the Elring orange main seal installed all the way into the case.
When my engine was still a 2017 cc running 14's, I got by with a breather tower (Latest Rage "Porsche" style). However, when I upgraded to 2332 cc and 7,000+ rpm, then I had to add a CSP box.
