... small update on the "tow car"..

It's now equipped with 4 porsche 944 disc brakes, 1915 engine with engle 110 cam, 40idf webers, full flow, etc. Sitting on 4 real gas-burners (the ones that were on Xav's sepia brown) and I also have a westfalia tow-hitch that can pull 1200kg according to the id plate... should be nice  ...

A 1915 sounds like a good choice, should be nice for sure! More fun when you're not towing though, getting a Bus sideways can alarm other road users! Cool

Out of curiosity what is Xav running on his now?  Smiley

Aces Smiley

What are the specs on the suspension? Tire size(s)?

very cool Cool

They should look ace together, are you A-framing the Bug or are you going to use a trailer?

A-frame, don't have the trailer lincence but that could change sometime...

But I don't like the idea of putting my 68 on a trailer... It's a road car, not a trailer queen. I'm even pretty reluctant of towing it to shows but you gotta love the space and confort of a bus. I hate putting all my stuff, my cooler, etc in th bug... and i don't want to sleep in a tent anymore!

Out of curiosity what is Xav running on his now?  Smiley

Xav did put the 2110 that he built for his offroad project in the bus for now. But when the offroad reclaims it's engine, it's going to stock 1600... until he builds another 2110 Smiley

What are the specs on the suspension? Tire size(s)?

So it's just a lowering kit at the front, but i'm searching for the perfect drop spindle, at the back 1 click with adjustable sping plates, KYB shocks, 185/65/15 out back and 175/55/15 on the front. I bought a 091 gearbox for cheap that I want to open to fit a taller 4th to make it a real cruiser...

Thanks all for the kind words...  Grin

Kieft and Klok made now drop spindles which are not welded. Not very cheap but safer than the welded one I guess.

Talking about Xav's engine reminds me of the afternoon the Race Shop Ghia came back to life!

 Cool

I was thinking of the wheels though, the car always looked great on the Porsche solubles but knowing Xav's eye for detail any change he's made are going to work too.

wow, that certainly looks cool!
i'm not too fond of the new horn button thought, i thought you restored that nicely at the time.
but where's the shot of the matching underwear Cheesy

jon, there's a pic of the herculon at the top of the page, so i'm assuming roland had this made recently.
