Good stuff... Sarge, Kevd, and Nico. That book cover on the lower left (with the gold background and painted VW engine) was how I learned how build engines in the back of Long Beach Auto Haus. Sure wish I could FIND MY COPY, gosh darn it all to heck.

 Angry

But, I'm happy that someone scored one.

That's a great book... I learned a lot there, too.  Oddly enough, I lost mine as well. Sad

Got the replacement T-Bar back from the polisher yesterday.  Sihilling's was where we took our stuff back in the old days before Al Reed.  It's located in an alley in deepest darkest Santa Ana.  I had them do the Halibrand spindles and the Centerlines on the sand rail along with numerous intake manifolds and other odds and ends.  John Sihilling was a round faced man with an easy personality who sadly passed some years ago... the shop is unchanged; a tiny black hole in the wall humming with the sounds of high speed buffers and the smells of hot rouge on metal.  Back then, it was not unusual to see a stack of GMC 6-71 blower housings with Mert Littlefield's name on the bill or a load of intake manifolds from Edelbrock.  John's son, Charlie runs the show these days.

Sarge, I dig your story about the polishing shop. Brings back great memories of Crystal Polishing and Anaplex Anodizing. Both were in Paramount, CA and I spent a large amount of time with my friends at those places. Later, I learned how to polish my own stuff with machines and various friends' shops. But Crystal did a suburb job reconstructing my outer wheels lips on my EMPI 5s.

Not really Cal Look, but now you can really call it Cal Look Lounge as my brother in law gave me a Mac iBook lap top he repaired and didn't need, so I am on the couch as we speak.....

Thanks Cheesy I am sooo happy with it but my Bug is in restoration at the moment so will be ready in a few months and cannot wait to put it on last!

It is 14 inch wheel.

Got some Appliance Pacer wheels too for the Bug if you have a look at the wheel thread Smiley
