Driving Hot VWs for 44 Years Strong!

« on: March 13, 2011, 09:02:10 am »

Ok...so I spent the day readying my chop top for its new motor with the addition of a rotary fuel pump, new gas line and have some questions.  I took out what I thought was my CB rotary pump and it has CARTER written on it.  I am not sure if it is the 3.5 psi version since I took it out of the wrapper months back.  Can anyone tell me what to look for in terms of the part number to clarify what version I have?

It`s the same pump. I work for NAPA and we sell the same Carter pump as CB but with NAPA all over the box. You didn`t really expect CB to manufacture their own fuel pump did you?

That is the same one I use in my car as well. It is quiet, I have no issues with excessive fuel pressure or with it being able to keep up with fuel volume.

The one I just installed looks exactly like the Carotor® Gerotor design.  Sounds like  I will be fine based upon everyone's feedback.  Bryan,  I knew CB did not make theirs I was just interested in finding out the flow/PSI characteristics.
