Agreed!
Here are two useful web resources regarding NGK plug specifications s and crossreferencing with other makes:

Running NGK D8's in my new motor as well. If you are using any of the CB heads that are CNC Ported, be sure to check the spark plug depth before assembling the motor. I had to use a .060 spacer under the spark plug to get it where it is supposed to sit. Someone apparently did not get the CNC setting correct for spark plug depth. I have friends here in Arizona that have a shop and caught the problem. I am sure it was on a limited run of heads until they were notified but be safe and check your heads before running your engine.

If you run a radio/stereo in your car, you may want to consider running spiral wound wires and resistor plugs to cut down on the interference that may occur.
NGK DR8ES would be the resistor option.

iBill, The 7 is hotter then the 8's I used to run the D7EA plugs in my 2084 cc motor, you shouldn't need that cold of a plug (D8EA) for a street motor

I always ran the D7EA NGK plugs. Never a problem. The D8EA in a streert car will have a problem fouling sometimes. Dave Rhoads

Thanks again guys for your input, as I have a spare set of d8ea I will go with them, if I have a problem of fouling I'll try something else.
How about gap, what do you recommend
Thanks again, Matty

Matty,
The mags like a tight gap, try .020" to .022".

joel mohr, what's the story on the triple electrode choice and the hp gain? ... oops , top secret ? going to fallon and finally vac, clean, wax, get ready for uph shop appointement for carpet. Might go to top gun raceway this afternoon if doug has ken's car ready for test and tune. Finally get to drive my car without it cutting out a 4800,felt great but thought it was wires through the firewall, ground, then ken leaves a sticky note that says to to doug, there is an adjustment screw on top of dist for the REV LIMITER...oops, we had dynoed it with a different fan shroud but same style computronix init and remembered to adjust. Maybe will take a high rpm plug ck, and take a pic and show it..? bill
