The great Buzzin-Bee thread and storey got me thinking... I saw deano wrote "there was not much attention to the Florida racers back in the days". Good point. Yet there was quite a lot of buidling and racing going on down there - especially with the East vs West shootouts and Inch Pincher tours and all that.

So - this thread to gather more insight on Florida-gassers from back in the days. What do we know?

Some car-names I know of;
"Buzzin Bee #1"
"Buzzin Bee #2"
"Bug Magic"
"Der Rennlaufer"

Does anybody have knowledge and/or pictures of these - or any other pre-75 Florida Gassers?

here's bug magic
  Wink

Bug Magik is still owned by the same person that built and drove it in the 70's.  The car is still together and as it was raced back in the day. Scooter Heaton owner of R&S Performance in Orlando Florida is the owner, builder, and racer of Bug Magik.  I've been to his shop and talked with him about the car. He told me that the paint (car was done in laquer) is cracked in places but it's still together and covered in his shop. I encouraged him to take the car back out to some shows and he said he would think about it.  I remember him telling me he thought people wouldn't appreciate the car so he wasn't sure he wanted to take it out and display it.  I told him that there are a lot of people who would love to see it.  This was about two years ago now. Still haven't seen the car anywhere.
