That's a lot of coin for wheels that looks like (from my eyes anyway) run of the mill chromies... I second what the other feller said about a fool and his money.  Grin

Nothing surprises me price wise anymore on rare/HTF VW/Porsche stuff..

I've had the pleasure of smacking around a set of these wheels (with a lead hammer and kid gloves of course Wink)

I think they would look cool an a Split or Oval Cal-looker myself Grin

I don't remember when Rudge knockoffs weren't highly sought after and ghastly expensive. Often worth more than the car they came off of.
$28K does indeed surprise me, but I'm sure someone will step up and bite the bullet.

Schwimmer's correct. And at the same time, I never cared for those even thirty-forty years ago. To me, the factory steel wheels or alloys looked much better. Could never figure out why anyone wanted to deviate from their factory wheels on a Porsche. It was mind boggling to witness while working at my local Porsche dealer.

Oh to be able to go back and grab all of those n.o.s. steel and alloy wheels from the Take-Off bin, upstairs. (sigh)

Wow, those actually cheap. People usually pay much more for that stuff.

Knock offs aren't about the look, Mark! It's a form follows function thing... Very German indeed Wink

Yeah, I know... seen those things for forty years. Still don't like 'em. To each their own, I guess.
