That was a great car and the best part.......those sexy Scheel seats!  Smiley

The other 67 appears to be the same car as shown on the cover of the June 77 DKP issue and the Feb 80 Cal-Look issue of HotVWs.  Has there ever been another cal-look car that was on the cover of HVWs twice....yet never actually featured inside?

Jim just purchased probably one of the nicest '67 verts ever restored (when was the last time you saw a Java Green convertible?). He now lives just outside Phoneix and won Best of Show at the Copper State event. A little background, remember Greg Aronson's cream white 356 Porsche convertible with the VW 2000cc slipper skirt engine? Well, when Greg sold his condo in Yorba Linda (now this is years ago), Jim not only bought the condo, but the Porsche 356 as well! Package deal. I recall Jim showing that red '67 at the Bug-Ins, super nice guy. Glad he is back into VWs.

Add to that, Jim was by the Dealership a month or two ago in a beautiful, RED, 356 Porsche...some guys NEVER change! Cool

1) What happened to Jims 67 sedan?
2) Who owns the other 67 pictured here.  (feel free to email me direct so that it doesnt wind up in Europe!)   Grin

I kept the picture in this reply to have something to compare to.

Back to the red cal-look cars. Is it the same car?

It could be: Scheel seats probably worn out over the years, move the antenna, replace antenna with a original piece, remove handle on the hood, change mouldings around the door windows (maybe it has just worn of the black paint..) . If it's a DKP car wouldn't the owner remove the club badge before it was sold? you can actually see that there has been a badge on top of the hood.

No they are not the same car.
As mentioned above, the other red car was on the cover of HVW twice.  Both cars were around in the late 70s

Really liking the body colored head light rings with the lucas turn signals. Hood has been shaved of the handle too. Very clean look.
