What happens when four 2-liter plus VW's land in the middle of a nice, quiet Saturday morning at Bonelli Regional Park? Met with some buddies for an easygoing morning of good friends, a few beers and some cheap ice cream. Perfect weather too.

Sure had a great time at the park yesterday, Jim.... too bad more guys didn't show up for the fun.  Here's a few pics from a bike trip I take to the park during the week... the route travels out of Chino through old-town Pomona on back streets before reaching Bonelli.  Then it's past the drag strip and back through Claremont... a 28 mile loop.  Our trip around the lake yesterday was sweet!  More road trips please!! Wink Cool

thanks for the tour yesterday, Sarge, nice peaceful (?) drive throughout the park with a couple of redline kissed stomps for good measure. Next time don't forget the pylons so we can stake our claim like the chanting cult you went to join. Shocked

Sarge, how come your muffler is so quiet? I feel like my car is shifting the earth's axis with all its noise, but your car just PURRS. I think I want to go back to Super Turbo muffler, like Herbet advocated.

Cool pix

Straight through muffler (Magnaflow, etc) is much louder than a chambered muffler (Dynomax, etc).  And a bigger muff is quieter.  Cheesy

I had an A1 lowdown with Magnaflow on my old '65 and boy was it purdy, but it was LOUD.  I have old school twin quiet packs going on my '64 project.  Grin

Sarge don't bump your shin against that pipe after shutting the car down after a long drive.   Shocked Shocked

Mike, A-1 does sell a quiet Magnaflow. I have one on my sidewinder and I love it. When I bought the system I told Tiger that I wanted the most quiet muffler he had. It probably limits the top end power a bit, but I don't care. It's a true driver.

How goes the project, btw?

Great photos of great cars and scenery Jim and Sarge. Seeing stuff like this makes me want to come out for the Classic again next year. Cruising here in the Dallas area has been tough lately. We are at 28 days in a row of 100+ temps with a total of 35 or so since June.
