Just saw this episode...

Did you notice that there was an "Automatic StickShift" emblem on the decklid when he bought the car in Idaho.

Later in the show, the emblem was gone and the car had a clutch pedal?

A lot of autosticks were converted over the years.  Ed China probably figured the emblem was no longer necessary.

I recorded the latest WD episode.  A late bay window panel van with a Type1 engine. Rebuilt with Chinese parts and resprayed burnt orange.

Kind of intersting and always entertaining!!

But I wonder if they did the conversion and didn't add it in the cost of the vehicle. You never see them take a hit on the sale. Could it be that they "adjust" the numbers.

Yes, it is television after all.  However, Ed disconnected the clutch cable and inspected the clutch for replacement upon removal of the engine.

They would have mentioned the conversion in the story line.
