It's all relative, I guess.  The way I look at it is it's only worth it if someone pays it... I'll never pay the stupid money buses are fetching these days it just isn't worth it (only in my humble opinion). As far as the Berg parts valuation is concerned, I understand it and respect it, but $1,800 for a crank, flywheel and pulley would be a mighty nice wallet booster for me, lol.  Makes me wonder what the reserve was set at.

To each their own ... I'd pay it, if I didn't have one already.
Then again, I have plans for THAT crankshaft ... Hmmmm

Lots of people complained that the Berg forged stroker cranks were too expensive in the eighties and nineties when they were still making them or available. If I could go back to that time I would've bought 4 of them!  Now look at what people ask /pay for them in used condition.  I really wish more people were buying them back in the day when they were available so that the Bergs could have kept making them / selling them. There would be a lot more of these cranks available today if that were the case.  I have a Swedish 8 doweled (no wedge) Berg 82 std / std in my 2110 that I bought used in 2002. I'm glad I bought it when I did!

$875 more than it was new when purchased in '97 with all the work done at GBE.  Everyone complained in the 80's and 90's about the price too.
