I,and a few good friends!! started making me a 61'er ....Ok, for some time now... Wink ( I do not ride the same day I saddle the horse!!)   Smiley

It will get all the small changes and details that I've been dreaming about in my previous two beetles... This time it will be a "cal look" ... So I should really learn to control myself! Cheesy And only make small discrete alterations .... ie, I have moved the gear lever 6cm. backwards. (I've always run the driver's seat right up against the back seat) So I am excited to be able to get it in 1st and 3rd.! . Wink. (I run with H harnesses)
Right now I'm by raising the engine and gearbox 1" (or more exactly 29mm.) With the help of the old trick, using a bus-gearbox-nose.
Have just raised the luggage shelf and all the other things (I do not know the English words .. sorry!) around the engine .... (I REALLY need to learn how to put pictures up in here! Grrrr..) Well, now I have a question..... Have just heard rumors that I'm going to change the length of the suspension arm ... or just the sluts for the axle bearing housing ... Grin But by how much?... which way?.... is it something you can figure out in relation to the 29mm. Lift? .... What?? ... Help!!! Roll Eyes Wink

Sincerely. mads.

I saw it in an ad, far up north in sweden ... with sun burned paint, lowered to the ground and with Rader weels. for 9000skr. (something like $ 1,290) And I suddenly saw a clear picture of how it would look like with a set of centerline 5 "and Bridgestone 165/65 15 out front. And centerline convo pro 7" with. Hoosier 245/60 15 at the rear. So, a day for now a few years ago, a friend and I took the ferry to our brother country Sweden, with an auto transporter, and took a LONG ride up into the snowy north of Sweden (perhaps you Swedes now laugh and tell me that it really was only in the middle of sweden) But it was some 850km. from Varberg.... and ALL the young people were out driving on their snow scooters!!! Shocked Shocked Cold... and Cool ride Allan  Cool  The first thing I did when I got home was to sell of the Rader's ... And buying the said centerline wheels! But to hell ... I could only find convo pro's in star cut Undecided ..... But one day.....

This is from when I had just bought it. Here without a motor. hence the "funny" stance ... Wink

I don't know if you can see it on the last picture, but I've shortened the axle tubes ..... NOT the axel! ie. I took a set of long and shortened it to the length of the short ones, then I cut a similar piece out of the torsion tube (actually not me, I helped a friend who is a pro welder .... do not dare to mingle with this parts.. I have to drive the car myself Wink Grin) ... This creates more space, and make it possible to run wider tires AND original width fender! Cool

if you look at the background in this picture, you can see that I've moved the bracket from the outside position to the inside, to follow the narrowed torsion-tube tower.
Or, I hope you can..... Grin
