What colour is that? Looks slightly brownish in the red

Loving the LeMans style start there!!!
Looks like the Formula Vees are going to eat them for breakfast though!!
Yeah what fun, air cooled bump drafting slingshot passing.
I imagine the Bug race was only a couple laps long.
I wonder back then how much prep was put into the bugs? Stock seat, lap belts, stock brakes?
I bet most of them drove them to the track too. ;D
It sure looks like the flag guy is ready to wave a green flag for the FV?
The FV were likely lined up to race next, with a lap to warm up tires and a rolling start.
For safety sake open wheel cars prefer not to race with sedans.

Look at the one without the towel rails on the bumper, just right of centre of the photo. It's got bullet indicators, so it's a 56/57 oval, and it looks like it's wearing the number 3 on the door.
If I remember right, didn't Empi run Darrell's car like that before it became the Inch Pincher? Could that be it?

Darrell's car (driven by Dan Gurney) won the GP of Volkswagens at Nassau, of which this is a photo...

I was gonna say, I thought it looked familiar from some older article about the early days of the Inch Pincher, but I wasn't 100% sure.
