thanks for the comments guys those 2 cars really seemed to strike a cord with a lot of folks back then just wish I coulda held on to mine and done it how I wanted to but family life kinda got in the way Roll Eyes Paul did get his done though and a damn fine job he made of it too IMHO

Both cars still hard core lookers, and still local too. And both in the Rennwagens hot VW club. Well, Matt, owner of the 67 is a prospect as family commitments have prevented him from attending the track in the car to get his qualifying time. The 63, after being restored and now gulf blue, has been developed over a number of years into probably one of the quickest REAL street VW's in the country, driven all over the place and running mid 11 second quarters with the only concession to weight saving being t bars and a set of gold anodised ERCO's. The 67 now has a 2276 in place of the 1776 and is still as immaculate now as it was when first restored.

Excellent cars.

And I remember those old pics to streetvw, LOVED them then. Both looked hard as nails Smiley

 Sad a high price i paid in the divorce having to sell the 67,after i put lots of time any money into the engine it looked like this....
