Issue with my Dellortos
«

I have an issue with my 48 Dellortos. After switching off the engine I noticed that they leaked the contents of the float chamber to the engine in cyl #1. Put in new needles and checked the float levels but the problem remained.
I learned that this is a typical issue with Dells and it is due to lead plug in some extra channel that gets loose (like when the carb gets dry over winter storage or if you clean the carb with compressed air) and it starts to leak one day..
Has anyone else encountered the same problem and is there a cure for it?
(I know, should have bought Webers, so pls no smart-arse replies..)

It`s almost positive a plugg in the carburettor that is loose, in the bore between the main- and idlejet.
The plugg is inside this hole. Have had the same problem. How to fix this:
Remove the outer plug with a little wodden screw ,like I`ve done in this picture, and the smaller plug will come out. Try to fit the little plug. When it sits correct, find a sylidric tool that is a tiny bit smaller than the "big" hole(red circle). With light punsj on the tool, the plug is secured. Then fit the outer plug.
Now you`re back in the game!
