Just walked in the front door from a long hot day at work. Scored a twelve pack of these for $10.99 at Rite-Aid. And they're extremely cold. Great way to end the day.

New Belgium Brewing

Tonight I broke out a beer I've been hanging onto for a few months. Great Divide Brewings 16th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA (10% ABV) If you like Bourbon barrel aged beers, this is a very good one.

Tonight I'm drinking an outstanding Imperial Oat Oatmeal Stout from Southern Tier Brewing (11% ABV). This is the best oatmeal stouts I have ever had, and I've tried quite a few.  Grin The high alcohol is barely noticeably, palate wise.

Probably my new favorite stout. Steelhead Extra Stout is a very close tie.

Strong, good, strong, flavorful, strong, and cool name. Oh, and it's strong... and dark.

Alesmith makes fantastic beers. Their bourbon barrel aged Speedway Stout is awesome if you can find it. It's just as strong (12% ABV) but has even more complexity.

Deschutes Jubel 2010 (10% ABV). It's been in my wine fridge since last March and I thought it was getting a little lonely so I thought I'd peel back the wax dipped cap and indulge although the label says to wait until January next year. Pours like a standard Porter, very dark brown with a hint of translucency. Tastes like bourbon soaked raisins, caramel, vanilla and booze. At times, it almost has the yeasty/tart qualities of a Belgian Ale. Not bad at all. The more I drink, the more I like it. Although I don't think I'd buy another at $13.00 a bottle.

Why not choose a more healthy alternative, like this delicious prune juice?

Fish Brewing 10 squared Barleywine (10% ABV) 10 types of hops, 100 IBUs and incredible. i would consider it more of a triple IPA than a Barleywine.

Got lucky, this weekend... at the Channel 3 Christmas show, my friend bought me a Chimay Ale in the small bottle.

Today, after returning home from the skatepark, he and I changed the oil in our daily drivers. He brought me a huge bottle of this:

That, Cars & Coffee in my '67,  and summer like weather made for a great two days. Hope that you all had a good weekend.

Fabian, since I was a little kid, I've wanted to see Europe. I'd LOVE to attend E.B.I. 4, but money is a problem. If I didn't have a house payment, I'd be there every year. Thanks for the kind thoughts, though.

Well, after the tastings a couple weeks ago, I've become a fan of Lost Coast Brewery.
I was sharing their Tangerine Wheat, Downtown Brown Ale, & my new favorite cold one

8  BALL   Porter is is nice & dark, sorry I only brought 6 of each to Bug-In.

They also have a Great White, a raspberry brown, & Indiga -- an IPA all good.    Grin

No -- I don't work there.
