It is time for a new motor for my 1967 streetcar. Car is a streetcar only, with little to no track time ever. It presently has a 2176 (94x78.4),but I've got most of the workings for a 2276. New engine will be built around a set of Fred Simpson L6T's with 40x37.5 valves. I'm either going to use an SLR 296 on 106lc's or CB's 2288. Motor will have 45 dellorto's, 1 5/8th's exhaust and 9 to 1 compression. VW journal crank, lightened flywheel and 5.4" rods. Car has 4.12 ring and pinion with 1.48 and 1.04 3rd and 4th. Thoughts or opinions are welcomed.

I think either an FK8 or a W130 with 1.25's would work great with that setup

2176 has a w120 and 1.1's. My last 2276 had a k8 and I did like the driveability. I'd prefer to use 1.4 rockers.

What do those heads flow at .550 valve lift?? are those aggressively ported? mild fluff and buff??
No sense going with a big cam if your not flowing big numbers. In the realm of a k8, webcam 86B, Eagle/cb 2288 will not dissapoint you.
Do yourself a favour and sleeve your mag case with silicon bronze sleeves or use an aluminum aftermarket case. You can go more aggressive on your cam and get a rampy one like the fk40 series or a pauter cam. That'll get you into your power band much faster and keep you pulling hard. An fk44 or 45 will pull hard much faster than a k8. Ramy cams are much harder on the lifter bores.

Very happy with the K8 in my 2276. Both on street and strip.

The K8 and the 86b are fairly close right? With the 86c being between the FK-10 and the FK-87?
Thanks,
