Hi EVERYONE,  It gives me GREAT PLEASURE to report that my long time friend of 40+ years and fellow VW enthusiast "The Wiz" Lonnie Reed from"The Head Shop" will be joining me and all of YOU this year at EBI #5. Lonnie was a member of Newport Beach Vw Assoc. in Newport Beach,Ca. in the early VW cal look years and went on to become a proficient head designer who developed The Original "Wedgeport" high performance cylinder heads. Lonnie also was a talented drag racer who ran his white glass buggy(early 70's) into the 10:80's with his 82x88 Empi slippered engine and later became race director for the orig. Bug In's here at the(now gone) historic O.C.I.R. facility. Lonnie sponsored many VW racers at Pikes Peak, the sand drags, and the 1/4 mile drags with names like: Kris Klingamon of B Modified fame, Dan Mcgrath"Going Bananas", Mike martinez(DKP 12 second chop top), Mario Navarrete (12 second street super beetle) ,DZK club with several small engines running (38ida) webers all running mid  to high 12's, Dan Neeley's "Oranegasm", Mark trembley's "california Sting" Richard Bays with the Original "little Giant killer", Mike Childers"radical Rabbit"and a host of others,as well as grudge match racing ME at several Bug In's. I was privileged to work for Lonnie over the years part time doing head work, repairs,R&R work, and got to see first hand the talent of "The Wizard" as lonnie was an innovator not only with The Wedgeport design, but the first deisgned Eliptical pushrod for VW application, O Ringed cylinders, Dual Nitrous systems, Hidden systems, etc. The Head Shop was responsible for having earned to its credit 32 NHRA records over the years. >side note: Lonnie was also a United States National Archery Champion having earned more awards and trophies unlike anything I have ever seen in my entire life...!  I hope you will all join me in welcoming Lonnie Reed to Belgium at EBI #5 and make him feel at home amongst the rest of all of the "HAPPY" VW enthusiasts....!!  Peace Out/Dyno Don  "The Voice"

If someone needs a place to campout during the week inbetween Hessisch and EBI, let me know , plenty of space... free water and electricity. Near Diest , BElgium, 1 H drive to PAT's , 2 H drive to EBI, 1H drive to BBT (that's in aircooled therms)

Hi Keith, This is going to be a real cool deal with Vittone here, now Lonnie joining the others. I dont think either of them have a CLUE to what their eyes, ears, and hearts are going to witness firsthand. C U soon, Dyno

What is the date for the EBI#5? Also, what do plane flights run to get there and back? Curious.

28/29 30 June. I would think airfares are about £600.00 ($900). Hope you and Ann are well.

Hey Bernie....doing well.  Won't be able to make it this year but planning on the next one for sure.  Anne just had some hand surgery so she cannot tote her baggage.  Next time you are over, you'll have to let me know.  Got the Chop Top road worthy now so road trips are no problem.
