cool cheers dude - I am mainly interested in the ones with Black High lights (later ones) but I really need some detailed pic's of just the wheels, I want to see the "finish"  I want to see just how "flat" the finish is.

I want mine to look just like the ones on the ex Goss chop top  Smiley

1967 911S ran 4.5" Fuchs....they are an acquired taste in my opinion. On the right 911S, to me, nothing looks better. On a VW....not so sure. The '67 wheels weren't finished like the later S Fuchs, with the black areas.

wow...i thought i was alone in not being a devotee of the fuchs......

i think they look ok on a full on 70's style looker...dechromed,non-factory paint  etc,as i'm sure lee's car will be,  but i'm not so keen when i see them on the more "modern", dare i say  resto-cal-esque cal look cars....ie factory colours, stock interior, full chrome trim etc etc......

yes...i've been drinking........

4.5 x 15 1967 911S in Original finish.

5.5 x 15

Hey! those are my wheels! Wink

alloys came in sizes 14x5.5, 15x4.5, 15x5.5, early 15x6 (deep),Late 15x6,15x7,15x8,16x6,16x7,16x8.5

There is an early deep 7 and a late 7 x 15, just like the 6s.
There isn't a 8.5x16 wheel.  There is an 8x16 and a 9x16
Also there is a 9x15 and an 11x15.  These latter 2 wheels are from the RSR

The pic you posted labeled late 6x15 is actually a pic of a 5.5x14.

I'm running Burners too but, still, Fuchs are original wheel from late 60's or early 70's, unlike the Flat4 pokemon-berms  Wink

As I read from certain quality web-blog, "bored of Fuchs, bored of life"  Cheesy

And originality is the spice of life.  Wink

Now don't get me wrong, I like fuchs as much as the next guy. One of my favorite Ghias, Mike Lawless' blue car, wears them. But come on, you have to admit they are getting over done when every car you see in the mags and at shows is rolling on a set of earlies. There are a bunch of nice wheels out there that you don't often see. How about a set of detailed eight spokes, or some of the flat-4 creations. Maybe some chromies w/o hubcaps and painted hubs? Some American Racing mags or some Rivieras even. Heck, get real old school and run some widened stock VW rims in the back. Quit being lemmings guys, take a chance and step out of the accepted norm.  Grin

No, I was refering to the pic posted by Shubee2, labeled as a 15x6.  Go and have a look at it.  The holes between the spokes are shorter radially than all other Fuchs.  That's how I can spot 'em from 10'

It is getting bit offtopic from the original subject but.. Someone commented patina cars in TheSamba that they look like belonging to "some kid that works at burger joint and cannot afford paint job", IMO chromies or widened stock rims look the same, bit cheap Grin

Being different is difficult with one of the most common cars in the world, but there are still quite many wheels to choose from besides the usual 5-spoke/BRM/Fuchs.

Both mine and my other halfs car (when it's finished) are/will be on Fuchs but when the opportunity arises I will be looking to buy a few other sets of Porsche pattern wheels just to mix it up a bit and I can think of a fair few wheels I'd like to have, (Burners, American's, some Erco's etc etc). Some rims out there though are plain ugly and the only reason I can think some people run them is that they are making a conscious decision to be different at the expense of taste, the ultimate fashion victims in a sense.  The 'I'm cool because I'm different' type of people; yeah that's as maybe, but you look a complete twat! Why not just go all the way and stick the car on a set of 24" spinners? That's different for sure! I think the reason some combinations are frequently used is that they look good, simple as that. There are subtle ways of making a car different and the stupids most of the time walk right past it and then spend their time filling forums with utter crap. Fortunately on that front this forum gets of lightly.  The devil is in the detail, look deeper for the different. Not many cars out there are actually the same when it comes down to it.

Back towards the topic; Lee, if you want your wheels anodized check out Diamond Styling, I can get their details if you want.

Al Reed will Anodize wheels too. To refinish a wheel and then anodize, be prepared to pay $150.

I really get tired of people saying "everyone has Fuchs wheels today". People used to say that already 20 years ago. They ARE one of the most beautiful wheels ever made - thats for sure. And if someone wants to have them because he likes them, why not? I wouldn't put ugly wheels on my car just to be different.
