Enough of the 60s psychedelics, what about the blues? Some Lightnin' Hopkins, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Elmore James, Johnny Otis, Buddy Guy, Pigpen, etc.

Just ordered up some Hubert Sumlin...Wake-Up call and Blues Guitar Boss.  This after watching the DVD that came with the Kenny Wayne Shepard 10 Days Out CD.  Hubert influenced Eric Clapton.

In an effort to stay awake and working at my job today, I switched my XM to "fungus", the punk channel.  Was sort of nice for a change.  They started playing a bunch of ska in the late morning, too.

Don't know if you've heard of them, but my favourite band of all time is The Wildhearts. At times heavy as f**k, sometimes punky other times almost poppy, but always with absolutely killer hooks and tunes to die for. Louis, if you like Soundgarden (especially Badmotorfinger) then you'll find something you like in their back catalogue, as will Jim R with the Black Flag AC/DC and Jane's Addiction playlist! Wink
