Keep it simple...

« on: February 02, 2015, 16:13:23 pm »

Time for a fresh topic , although I'm not sure if it's not been done allready.
just thinking , everybody has his all time favorit cal look car(s) . The paintwork of the car is one hell of a major factor , so I'm hoping you guys are willing to present us your favorit colour. I know the early guys used a lot of great porsche colours but years pass and the manufacturers databases grow further every year so...
If you want , colour specs (brand , code) are welcome.

I like RED
So it has to be either Coral red (L351) or Ruby red (L456)

ps:but you know I can't change the color of my car for some reasons

I've always felt that pretty much all the various vintage shades of green really suit the earlier beetles...
Never been a fan of reds, although Coral is a slightly different matter, sea blue always looks good too. No surprise here, I love Mango green, but Java green will always be a favourite, Ceramic green is very seldom seen for some reason, but looks great.... Beryl green also  very cool..... I could go on.....

I've for some time kept in reserve/secret my total favourite colour for an imaginary next project / mid '70's era colour-coded Cal-looker..... But I don't imagine it happening anytime soon, so.....Porsche Lido Gold, check it out, you'll love it or hate it.

Goodnight!

With this NZ only interior in my '58 (locally produced to increase the local content of the final CKD cars) there is little chance of me ever changing my car from white what ever my favourite might be!  What colour code white the '58 is currently?  Who knows, rumour has it that they decided what colours to use over a cuppa at morning tea and didn't follow the German colour book.

My favourites; Ruby Red and Baltic Blue (the latter especially on a Type 3).  Only trouble with Baltic Blue is that it has stealth qualities on a foggy day.  Easy to loose your car.

My guess also. But it's contaminated over the years, so it's no longer bright white.
