Hi

i have an early autometer tach which I'd like to use. The rear wiring has two smaller wires connected to diodes which are coloured yellow and blue. is it the same principle of snipping wires to convert it from 8 cylinder to 4 cylinder use?

If so which wire or do I snip both ? Model number is 288 which is a 8 k tach I guess from the late 70's

Done the Google thing but can't find anything

Thanks in advance

Ron

I believe this is correct.  I have the original instructions for the early tach but they are packed away. If you want to wait about a week and PM me I can tell you.

Hi Ron

Try one of these.....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TACH-ADAPT-Digital-Tach-Rate-Adapter-65-10097-All-Models-/370888658134?hash=item565aafccd6

Never used one but seems like a good idea....
