I just got off the phone with Rich Kimball and at this time we have 5 contenders that will be signing up for  DRKC Jason Foster, Scott Psuma, Eric Justus , John Grella , Robert Kong if I do not have  your name correct let me know and I will correct it here. Also have three other contenders. If you know of any one else interested to run this class call Rich.

Thanks
Frenchy

Hey there Frenchy....It's Pescuma. I'm driving to the track, using pump gas and DOT drag radials...Should be fun...who cares who wins!  Give the crowd a show.

Scott Pescuma

Hey Petaluma, your attitude is so right on the money.  See you there..............

Sorry everyone I was not able to make it to Bug In 40 I have to work extra overtime because I will be retiring in July this year. I hope that the Ren Kafer was a success this past weekend.

Thanks

Kong with his Squishy engine was my early pick... Saw that car on a dyno at AJ's a few years ago and it was a beast

Robert Kong

Actually, there was a mistake in the points tally,

Scott Pescuma 1st place + most show car points
Robert Kong    2nd place + Lowest ET
Jason Foster    3rd place

Folks like to dogpile on Shawn Geers, as if he was entirely to blame for the demise of DRKC.  Rich Dickson ran 10.90's too, did he not?  Damon L.'s Oval was running 11's.  There were a few cars that continued pushing the ET/performance envelope during the latter era of the class.  If anything, I would venture to say/guess that the class would have declined no matter what, as people get bored with one thing or another after time, and in some cases want to grow their racing program beyond one particular class.  Mike Lawless is a good example of a racer that moved beyond the DRKC box.
Going faster and doing "more" is the natural/inevitable progression of those involved in motorsports; if they didn't, guys like Cory Mac would have remained amateur hobby racers,  puttering around/bracket racing Volkswagens or whatever other platform you can think of.
