got to say huge congrats to Niklas Haglund for getting his 1641cc turbo mouse engine into the 8s today at Tierp in his 60ghia, after running 9.07 yesterday and breaking the gearbox they took car apart and went home to fix the gearbox overnight and fit it back into car today, then break na axle 1st pass today and swap that out, then run the 8.89@247kmh its a truely awesome achievement, well done Niklas

I found out, so thought I should enlighten everyone The weight to power ratio looks to be pretty close to the ET calculators.

Actually the r/p was changed on the parking lot at BRC! They just went home and picked up some spare parts, 140 km one way! Impressive!

Congrats Niklas! Amazing! And it is so good to see you and the car back on the track again. Funny that you was the first to post this Richie... have you become Facebook addicted like the rest of the world? And what is the status on the rest of the TurboTown gang? This picture brings back memories, a smile and a tear at the same time: -BB-

Just asking, what sort of turbo is capable of psi this high. The static compression must be real low. Mine is in the 7.5.1. range and have struggled to get a good tune at only 15 psi.

Kalle, news like this travels fast even for those of us with just a regular mobile phone without all those modern gizzmo/app things but I can see whats going on in that world via a laptop and rjvolks facebook page if I really want to Garrick, I would guess pretty much any turbo will make that psi if it see's enough restriction but getting the engine to live with it is another thing altogether, I have seen 48 psi on old cabrio once but heads didn't survive even to end of 2nd gear Niklas said it has 9/1 compression cheers Richie

Thats ridiculous on a 1641! You won't need that big a turbo for 500hp, but that said, a 6262 has a lot more in it then 500hp Spools at 6K upward me thinks, so thats a real high RPM motor! I like!

Thats a nice picture Kalle! Patte was at BRC as well with the Fastback. He had a couple of good runs with a new PB on the 60. He lost a few nuts holding one head so he had to stop. I am still working on the new setup, but to impress anyone now I have to go crazy fast 😃. Stefan and Fredde are working on there cars as well. I believe next year can be quite interesting considering the cars that are being built.

Hi Johan and thank you for the update from Turbo Town. I have always knew that Patte had a few loose nuts And it is also nice to see the log from the record run. Manifold Pressure 359 so max boost was likely 2.59 (37.5 psi) bar during his record run. The log also answers Airspeed question and we can see that the 6262 does actually build boost way earlier than you would think. Go big or go home -BB-

I can't actually see which line is MAP nor a MAP scale in there, but it is a nice log and there is some great tuning in there ;-)

Hi guys , I was just wondering what 87 mm pistons and cylinders is he using that holds up to that much boost ? Are they special cylinders or power sleeved ?

I think they are fooling you..
There are a lot of companys that can make special pistons. Also same for cylinders.
