awesome baja bug, Tony, I like how you kept the original tail-lights and license light in use! I see it has dual carburetors, but I've never seen them stacked one upon another like that. One way to keep stock air filter I guess, huh?

that is one sweet ride.

OK in all seriousness,

I'm trying to get Tony back into building a super-quick hot rod sedan.

Tony, here is an idea, let's see if you can make it become relaity.

Any year car, oval, 58-67 or even a 68- Beetle

slammed front end

Porsche 1978 930 Turbo Ice Blue

no moldings, bumpers, or window chrome. Ditch the VW emblem on hood, and VOLKSWAGEN script on decklid. Maybe satin finish T bars. Maybe no bumpers, T bars or anything.

Smoke tinted windows

Talbot mirror on driver's side only.

4.5" 911 alloys up front, early 6" 911 alloys in rear. Detailed as Porsche intended(with black background), EXCEPT instead of polished "spokes", they will be paint deatiled a gloss gull grey. Still with polished rim though. 145 radials up front and DOT slicks in rear.

Very simple interior. Two lightweight buggy seats upholstered in gunmetal grey corduroy. Simple matching door panels. No rear seat. Limitied grey loop carpeting. Rear package area same Porsche Ice Blue and mirror shine. Old Momo Prototipo wheel, Berg shifter.

2276cc, German filled case, 82mm Bugpack crank, 5.352 Carrillo rods, FK89, Super Flow 46 x 38 ti-valve heads, 13.5:1, Vertex locked mag, 48IDAs, polished SF manifolds, 1/78" exhaust in gloss grey, 3" turbo muffler under RH head, 3" pipe exiting under RH running board. All engine shrouds match painted in Porsche Ice Blue. Tayco linkage. Rhino cased 4-speed, 4.12:1, 3.78, 2.21, 1.65, 1.21.

Buggy House 80's plate frame, of course.

If you do a 68 and later, leave the bumpers on it.

yeah I'd like to see some 911 alloys done like this. If there was a set on my car, they'd be detailed just as I mentioned.

yeah, yeah, yeah.

just tell him to build the car you always wanted...  Grin it sounds a lot like one of your favorites to me. except the talbot mirror and the painting of the rims. nice idea btw. i still like the match-painted rims (sepia car with chocolate accents in the rims insted of black) but not on a blue (especially metallic blue) for some reason...

anyway here is your picture  Wink

good to win him (back) btw

now that was - a fun car to drive - the look would be like pete's car - motor would be a little different - stock fan housing - 911 type too much $ - for the bang - as for paint ? - I have been to the dark side and love it - but a nice street car might bring me back.

Tony, 3 mandatory ingredients to the recipe:

Porsche Ice Blue
911 alloys as above
2200cc + Super Flow motor fed by 48's
