I had one like this some years ago.

The previous owner said me it was sold as an accessory or on bugs sold by Motion Mini Car, Bill Mitchell company (Thunder Bug).

It fits the stock holes and has the same kind of attachment as a normal decklid script. It was on my convertible in its last incarnation.

Hey Mike, that reminds me of being creative and using badges from other "stuff" to make a funky badge for your car.  I don't remember if it was the chop top, or his wild back car, but Bill Greenly "borrowed" a "Sonic" badge from a floor cleaner or something at work to make a "Sonic Bug" badge for his glove box.

Thanks Lids, cool links. Hey Mike Greenly's car used to have "Briggs and Stratton" stenciled above the engine lid when it was flat blacked on American Racing Le Mans wheels back in the EARLY 80's and it had an 1835 in it too. That car sealded the deal for my addiction  when I got a ride in it and we smoked a stock 70's Corvette, it warped my 16 year old brain. Shocked

That's quite funny.  I bet he's got some good stories from back in the day.
