Holy Moses! I'd forgotten about that car! I saw it run at Blackbushe back in the day. Looked scary then – looks even scarier now! Good find! No idea what happened to it, or how it ran.

The bodywork is a bit "ungainly" and it looks like it has Pre-A Porsche 16X3.25 wheels on the rear.

The good old days! With all the retro/repro gassers being built right now, when are we going to see a "newstalgia" vw dragster like that on the strip? Oh, and sorry for the off-topicness, but after seeing those I can't resist posting this photo. Hemi-powered:

looks like a dog house fan and a pair of twin carbs sat way out back to me , but I understand that the organ pipes might make it look like its got another power plant under the coffin lid

speaking of which I've just found this while looking for info on old dragsters Wow... I've seen a 4-Cam in a road going Beetle before but never in an old Drag racer, Crazy - and probably way more hassel than it was worth?

The bike's Clive Wayes's "Drag Waye", ridden by Dave Le Coq. Saw it run at Blackbushe. Scary but ingenious!
