-at the beginning the car was white and the sign writingon the door was straight close to the empi logo and the lee eliminators stickers was one nothing higher on the door and more tilted
-after the car was painted by molly  , and the name borrows slightly the curve of the  empi globe logo , this photo is that of the report at the time of the exit of IP 2 , no stickers on the rear quarter panel etc...
-and i don't know why ,  after the logo  become again straight, why Huh is this following the accident that have inch pincher at the time of its promotional tour Huh and the LEE logo is become again more right too  Roll Eyes

Along the same lines... Slinger and I were checking out the IP1 in the Bug-In Handbook last night, looking at the stages it went through. You know how they say that it got the flowered roof at the same time as the large rear window? Not so... you know the famous picture of the IP1 on top of the stretched Single Cab with the Indian(s) in the forground? The car has the large rear window, but orange paint covers the roof. And also how the driver(s) names are changed on the door... Lowrey, Lowrey/Vittone, Vittone/Lowrey, Vittone...

A person I know with inside knowledge claims they built 3, yes three Inch Pincher Too's. This person may or may not be a member of this forum and will address this issue when he chooses or not. Grin

It is common knowledge that both the Inch Pincher I and II had different sets of doors! Since these cars ran at both NHRA and AHRA tracks (Lions and Irwindale had different sanctioning bodies at one time), Vittone had sets of steel doors and fiberglass doors. Why? Between NHRA and AHRA's Modified Eliminator, there was a slight weight difference in the lbs. to cubic inch breaks, and these cars ran in a number of different classes. Weight was taken out for some meets, added for others, 88mm bore in some, 89mm bore in others, hence the need for doors that weighed differently.

All you have to do is look at the cover of the new Bug-In publication that just came out from Japan. Look at the difference in the paint color on the Inch Pincher I's driver's door and the rest of the body. Hmmm, I wonder where those extra set(s) of doors are now.......   Wink

also the signwriting on the rear quarter isn't in all the pics, plus the top door hinge is chrome in one pic and painted in the others!

The chrome hinges are actually aluminum, and they are on the fiberglass doors.

If there were three cars built don't you think someone could have found at least one? I don't think EMPI had that kind of budget.

Well, if you count the NED bug, that makes 2. And although I doubt it, it's my guess that EMPI did have the funds to build 3 cars. They sold a lot of parts back then...

Me neither - I assumed that the changes in writing was due to the accident damage.

Yes, but the next big question is; did the extra doors go with the sale, when the Inch Pincher I & II got sold/went away? I think not.... Cool
