Rebound Stop Modification for SA beetles

spennyp:
Morning folks....got a question for ya....running a 2387cc in 64 bug.....I used to run a camber compensator....but I cant anymore because my gearbox has heavy duty side plates and it wont fit......i've heard of people modifying the rebound stops.....i've not seen many pictures.....can anybody on here shed some light on it.....I presummed that material is welded in to stop the spring plate travelling any further.....and therefore resulting in NO rear wheel tuck

Thanks in advance :)

31 views and no opinions!! i'm shocked ;)

Roman:
I use 13" limiter straps instead. Availible at most off-road shops in the US.

jick:
i was wondering about that too Spence......

what about those flop-stops (bugpack i think??) that locate on the springplate with a grub screw to prevent downward travel.....are they any good????

Roman:
Keep the rear wheels from unloading, just like a rebound stop. Here is a picture of mine.
I use 14" and I think they are a bit to long.
