My favorite 'vert, my fontana grey 66... And my second favorite 'vert, another 66, from Belgium... But I still think that a real Cal Look can't be a convertible!

I LOVE CONVERTIBLES!!! Karmann convertibles are by far my most favourite VWs, with a split vert being the most favourite. 2nd favourite would be a '67 or a semaphore vert and for the 3rd place any pre '70 vert will do...
The Cal-look is perfectly applicable to a vert imho...

Lets see some sans chrome! There is the one in the Cal Look book, and I remember seeing a white one in Hot VW's maybe about 10 years back...

Hey Glenn, What's the story on the burgundy convert will polished alloy wheels? That car looks very familiar... I bought that car around 1981/2 ish. The car was a 60 convert and was restored by an older guy in Irvine. I first put the motor and trans from my KG into it, left it stock looking for a while. After about 4 months I lowered it, put in a 2180 SPG roller / 48 IDA motor. I lived in Orange at the time so you might have seen it around Camelot or Carls Jr. We also went to Whittier Blvd. That car was involved in A LOT of street racing. I had American 5 spokes on it for a while too, they came off of the ex John Lesley / Harvey Rosenthal bug.

Reason I'm asking my cousin had a carbon copy of it. ( sold it about the same time ) same color and top and wheel combo. also ran a 48 IDA Motor /K8 cam, Steve Tim's heads..
