Thanks Danny! Means a lot coming from you. Never thought I'd recieve compliments from the guy whos cars I drooled over in the magazines!
I've been busy with the holidays, been out of town. But I'm mostly just slacking. And the days are short and the garage is cold!
On the other hand, AssHull just graduated from ASU with a mechanical engineering degree (top of his class no less!), and has just been commisioned a Lieutenant with the United States Air Force. But the big story is.... ASSHULL IS GETTING MARRIED ON SATURDAY!!
So yeah, it's been a busy month. After the honeymoon he tells me we are going to really get cracking on it again. I once heard that the last 10% of the job takes 90% of the time... I get that now!

Zach, you're going to need to find someone who does interiors - those seats don't even match! More pics!

We need some parts!
Left side door latch mechanism for '67 only Brake/Clutch pedal stop for early cast pedals (late one doesn't work anymore) Clip/retainer that holds the brake pedal pushrod on the pedal, once again for early cast pedals.
Thanks!

You should be able to make your own stop and the clip. I made a clip out of some stainless I had. The stop can be made out of some flat stock. C'mon Zach you are a creative guy. Just do it...

I could spend an hour making them, or I could find an original and save the time I'm not retired, time is money! On another note, I regretfully wont be able to make it down this weekend, but AssHull will be at the show Sunday and will have the tach mount for you.

There is a guy on the Samba that re does pedal assemblies and does a great job. He did a set for the 55, they are awesome. I need to look up his card but if you are interested in that, I can get you his contact info.

It will work also with Orignal Pans and early Pedals the stops are in a different place on the pedal itself on the early pedals

Ahh maybe some teasers soon AssHull has been knocking out the wiring, looks great and most importantly everything works! We got a new drivers door latch in and functioning, went to put in the drivers side glass last night but we were hampered by a faulty regulator. Slinger donated a replacement this morning so hopefully that and the glass will be in for good tonight. Also got the side mirror on... not your usual Talbot and made up a pedal stop this morning. Lots of tedious work, really. Just waiting on an order from Wolfsburg West and J-Bugs now

Parts lot came in, tail lights on, door seals in, 73+ Super Beetle speedo cable & grommet installed (needed longer cable to suit the new speedo location, worked a treat )and got the pedals sorted but when we bled the brakes we were greeted by leaks. New master cylinder fixed the problem, we just bled them and everything is dry Regulator #2 was less than ideal, so now we've got #3 slated to go in. Speakers arrived, Asshull just wired them into the kick panels and tested for tunes... 4 Non Blondes never sounded so good I dropped the front down a little more, looks much better with almost zero fender gap. 185/60's fit quite nicely on the "new" 6" wheels with 2" narrowed beam. Check it out- disc brake backing plates on drop spindles

very cool zach! speakers in the kick panels? those must be very thin then? did you fabricate them out of triplex or sth for better sound? are those ball joint with more travel by the way? looking good, can't wait to see it finished!

Yep, in the kick panels. I had some of the ABS plastic ones lying around, so they got put to use. When carpet is finally installed over them, it will look like it came that way from the factory. Using 5.25's up front, and 6.5's in the rear side panels. It's nothing crazy since AssHull (or I for that matter) isn't into big stereos. Just some tunes for cruising Stereo is hidden in the glove box, along with a couple power outlets for cell phone, ipod, whatever. Ball joints are stock style, thanks for the compliments

Looks really good Zach! (Now all you need is some 6X9 speakers mounted under the dash ) Makes me want Cookie Cutters! So... will it be ready for a little road trip? Perhaps Bug-In? Maybe Classic??

Caravan to Classic?? How about caravan to Bug-O-Rama? Ha! I'll have the GTV, but AssHull's car is still a ways out. I'm debating racing it as it will be my only mode of transportation for the next couple months and I don't want to pop the motor!
