the list
«
on:

so what is there still to do to get to EBI?
here is my list:
engine!!!! i have to have one
brakes: residual pressure valves, bleed, check things
headliner: seems fixed, but not tested so might have to do it again; it comes down when i open the windows...
rear suspension: is a notch to low and the adjustable springplates are not fitted yet
front is not alligned, can only do it when i have an engine.
what i have done the last week:
headliner, refitted and made some perforations
batterycut-off (i like racecars
)
tach mounted in the dash
empi padded wheel fitted and the horn made to work again.
brakes refitted after being reground.
cleaned the interiour
runningboards repainted
onepiece windows made work a bit better (still not perfect, but i am getting there. still no regrets fitting them
)
hope everyone is still motivated to GET IT DONE

1. Sort 'some stuff' out.
We're taking a more relaxed approach to European travel this year.
Possibly.

install the fuchs caps on the rear wheels (axles are too long so I need a sort of an adaptor)
I have 2 drips (don't know the word for druipers, dutch guys help me out plz
) and I need to polish the car untill they are gone
install my new floorcarpet
make my dash look a little bit more attractive as it does now. (I will weld it in the winter and make a super clean dash)
clean, polish, wax it the best I can

hey you guys are not messing up the topic IMHO, i would like to see people helping eachother out like this. so everybody can scratch things off their list and make it all to EBI.

that's a fact...
Another thing... I'm thinking on painting the "ears" on my 72 green like my car so that they are less obvious... Nicolas, you have seen my car, (or others that have seen him) Would it be an upgrade? Should it be easy for a professional painter to paint that kind of plastic?

you can do it yourself, you just need to go to a shop and get a primer for plastic parts like rearvieuwmirrors, and a spraycan with the same colour. there are no great flat surfaces, so you might be able to do it yourself. it will be more subtle for shure.

Right here we go :
1 - finish off engine - fixing a oil leak from the dyno stand, plus general freshen up
2 -
Bleed and refit x4 brake drums
DONE
3 - MOT
4 - check tracking - seeing as its NEVER been done
5 - REFIT Engine
Well those are the main ones but there are about 20 other small jobs I can't be bothered to mention - Don't worry She'll be there

I had a "small" list off things to do:
fix cracked exhaust
service brakes
service engine
But when working on the interior off a AC at work today, I decided my car needs one to for EBI
So now the list also contains:
respray interior
make new custom dashboard
buy and install carpets
make door and quarter panels
recover those panels
...
If all goes well this could still be done...

I have install new doors tonight.
I should make a very good cleaning and polishing of my car. Country roads are dirty
I bought a 1835cc engine from a friend, but time is a little bit short to install it. lots of little things to do I'm a waiting for some parts.
And it has a Porsche cooling...
