A race on the coast is a nice relief from the hot desert tracks common in the south west.
The large round green roof restaurant in the background offers stud horse Mai Tai's.

Sometimes instead of racing you just want to play. Grin

I'd sure like to flog a 510 on track.
The sound of dual side drafts wide open throttle is calling me...
A buddy racing his 510.

Video of us flogging air cooled 911s yesterday.

In video the still photos are by Kiki (Fabian's wife) the first is Chad McQueen on the brakes in his orange 911.
If you look close you can see his rear flare is dented on the top.
Chad was driving local mountain roads when a big horn sheep landed and jumped off his fender then over his car and kept running.

Nico Happy New Year!
Spent mine at the Laguna Seca with the old Vette.
Video of my buddy's new flat plane crank GT350.
Good practice for when we return in August for Reunion with the race car that is 25 seconds a lap quicker.  Smiley

Sunday at my buddy's for lunch with my favorite Porsche mech Vic Ofner.
http://johnstraub.blogspot.com/2012/02/porsche-944-gtr-003-time-withvic-ofner.html

Vic was removing the headers from the 962 to be replaced with new stainless inconel headers.
One of the last of the air cooled single turbo 962.

This 962 finished 4th at Daytona in 91 or 92 with Hans Stuck driving.
Hans visited with the car at the last Rennsport.

Hans mentioned the doors on the 962 kept opening on the Daytona bank at speed.
So during a pit stop the mechs ran self tapping screws into the doors and bolted them shut for the race.

I'm seeing a bit more traveling in my future -- I think retirement will suit me just fine LOL

Fell into this deal by accident... A 2003 coach with only 2640 miles on it, generator has only 38 hrs.

Mike, showed that picture to my wife and she said if I parked my car by the pool she'd push it in! Harold, that's definitely the way to do I!  It's probably bigger than my house too...

I kept off the chessboard, it's a 60s mid century modern car guy place.
When new Pool playhouse had an extra display room for his favorite 30s Bugatti.
House has attached 6 car and a detached 15 car garage.
Cool

Just sharing that #10 is on BaT this week.
It is a fun, safe and fast car to race!
The plan is to retire from racing the #10, and this fall start racing the #5.
The BaT comments at the end of the auction are sometime interesting/entertaining too.
