I got one on my stock 1200, it has really improved the driving. It pickups nicer in the lower RPMs. I intend to use it in my 1776cc which I'm building. At DasDragDay is saw the bare metal Type 34 which had also a 123 ignition so it can be used with a bigger engine Smiley.

I have a 2276 motor thats got a 009 and want to upgrade, what do you guys recomend?
 seems everyone goes for the MSD with the 6AL unit.

IŽm not sure you will see much improvement over a 009. The advantage with the 123 is that you can adjust it from the OUTSIDE.
But with the recent occured problems with Mallory and to some extend Pertronix distributors, the 123 certainly gets interesting.

Right now, I only see one (conventional) alternative to high power cars, - MSD. Eventhough they are a PITA to adjust and get to run perfect for a street car.

All this has pushed me to the point where cranktriggered ignition may be the next solution. And as the prices on electronic devices are getting more and more reasonable IŽm sure this will be in a not so distant future.
A guy not so far from here makes his own modified version of a MS, only his version has about 8 times faster reaction and calculatioŽng power. We have seen this system work on a Supra engine, pulling over 1000 hp.

The problem with computercontrolled cranktrigger ignitions are that you must map them, which is a ton of work. An intellegent EFI was of course a solution to that problem. But it gets more expensive, - and more important, is not that easy to work with on an ACVW engine for several reasons.

 i bought one of the first examples and have it in my type 3, i am using it daily for the last three years and no problem at all, the engine is almost original so i don't know what it will do at high rev's....for daily use on a original engine it's perfect to me...
