what do you think about this little panzers
this one was owned by mike martinez son of the famous Al sr martinez and brother of Al jr martinez the owner of the black chop top (dkpII)
here's some pictures and the report from vw trends , very clean & simple cal look as i love them
this one would be the inspiration for the next plan for the 74 with the 67 parts
enjoy

peter the rebuild of my 74 is not for now
, and for the wheels i've the two options i've the 5 spokes and the 8 spokes in the garage , normally i would go with the 8 spokes

WOW, that pic of the turquoise '67 that just posted looks a lot like my old neighbor's car, Fabian. I can't remember if his car had the standard door windows or one piece. But that car looks exactly like it. He had it sitting in his driveway, not running, a year or two before I was old enough to get my driver's license. I wanted that car so bad... but he wouldn't sell to me or my best friend, Bob. I wanted to paint it orange and redo the interior brown or black. At one point, it has Centerline wheels, too. One day, we were riding our bikes past his house and the car was gone forever. A year later ('79), I bought my '66.
Thanks for the flashback.

Fred,
Was that car sitting in a driveway in Lakewood on Del Amo about a block east of Clark?
That's where Marc Souters old car sat for quite a while... looked pretty sad too.

Sorry for the hijack... back to the tank.

Exactly Fabs.
Marc's 67 was the first car that I ever saw equipped with buggy bumpers back in the day... I still like 'em & plan on custom building a set for my project Oval.
Side note- somehow, back in the day I ended up with the amber Lucas light lenses off Marc's '67... yeah, I know big deal

Thanks for the correction, Dave & Fabian. You're right about the buggy bars. My old brain gets fuzzier, each day.
