Another day, another donut.  Last day of a week's vacation that went away too quick.  The Finals are on at Pomona today and it's damn near 90 degrees out... sounds like a good excuse to drink a few beers and choke on some nitro fumes Cool Cool Grin

$$$$$ Angry  That translates to $9 for a "large" (16oz).  I got lucky gettin' in, though.  There was something in the Thursday paper that alluded to Vets getting in free on Friday (for Veterans Day that was last Tuesday), so I saved myself $40 and drank my first four beers "on the house!" Thanks Sarge, this was a nice cruise. Cool

Nice pics. That makes me dream as in the same time here in Belgium, weather is dull and rainy. Not really cold for the season, but gloomy.  Undecided

Great pics. Sarge dig the size of those plugs... and the shot of the heads cool.  The shot of the spent slicks  man those things take a beating! Very envious of your day.

The one thing your pics can't show is the unreal experience of two top fuel diggers with a combined over 12,000 HP blowing by in an earth shaking diplay of RAW power!!!!!   Awesome!

Your right, Jason.... one thing is the smell of nitro, the other is the way your eyeballs shake in your head up in the stands on a side-by-side pass.  Something TV will never be able to duplicate.

We're flat-landers in Chino.... no hills that are next block over or anything like that and we are up-stream in the wind.  My sis and brother-in-law live in Brea off Lambert and the 57 on the other hand... sis said they watched about 25 water drops and loads of glowing embers blowing in the wind within walking distance of their house late yesterday afternoon / evening. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked  I'm anxious to hear from Jim Holmes and Doug Haydon.... they both live in the Yorba Linda Hills.  Ron Fleming and the Aronson's are also close by.  It's a real scary time for everybody right now from the looks of it.  Hope your good to go over your way.

Thanks, Harry.... it turned out to be quite a show Sunday afternoon on TV with Cruz Pedragon stealing the Funny Car title from Tim Wilkerson and Robert Height.  Now, the doldrums of Winter with no more auto racing on TV until next February Sad Cry

Nice shot of the clutch pack there Sarge. sound like it was an awesome meet.
great metting for the swiss especially thanks to Urs Erbacher having what must be the best weekend of his life! getting to the Semi's of an NHRA event taking out JR Todd Shocked and Brandon Bernstien Shocked is a big deal.

hey Sarge what do you think of the 1000ft formula that they are running in NHRA at the momment does it make much difference to the racing?

Urs was looking HOT Sunday!  It's really tough jumping in the pool with all the big-shots.  As for the 1,000 ft deal, I feel that it makes no difference to the fans, only to the racers and their record books.  The show is always good and, like Harry points out, the smell of Nitro will hook you for life. Cool
