The Dean Jeffries Custom 356 is still around and getting restored right now. Dean also was the one that put little bastard on James Deans Porsche

Would be nice to see one of these firms get into replicating some of the stuff like the 4-cam Carrera style carb linkage, or the style oil lines and coolers that were used on the 4 cam stuff. Go beyond "looking good" and begin to "work good" too.

I did some work on a friends Beck Spyder in the past.  His has a CB 2332 with 48 Dells. Plenty fast but never felt comfortable in it. I think the curve of the windshield distorts your view and its like siting in a 150 HP bathtub. Gets LOTS of attention though. On the other hand my other friends Speedster replica felt much better. But that Spyder sure looks cool.

I had a Martin and Walker spyder rep a few years ago, its alot like the Beck rep.

Every time I took it out something fell off it. I had just sorted out all the little pain in the ass bits when I got fed up and sold it.

Having said that once it was sorted it was fun to drive but unlike anything else I've driven. If you lost the back end, you realy had to be on the ball to catch it or you'd end up spining it.

I waited 12 years to get one and it only took about about 18 months before I got rid of.
