Hello Everyone,
This is MT Lee from Taiwan, it is also my first time post pictures here. The "Cal Look" bungs are not a lot in my country, because we have limited information before internet was born.  So,you will know internet is really important for us. I really like Cal-Look bug, and it is cost a lot to build here. Most of pre68 Beetle have to import from US or Europe. The car on the pictures is my weekend car, it is a 56 rag top with 2275 with Berg short IDA manifolds, I must run air cleaner for regular use in order to protect my cylinders. Last cylinders w/o A/C only gave me less then 10K miles, then worn out. I hope to make some friends here. I am sorry about my pool English, hope you guys understand!

Wow! Nice car!!

Welcome to the Lounge, I'm fairly new here myself...

Your Oval would look right at home on the streets here in the U.S. (In fact, it would look best in my garage Wink)

The Loungers are a great bunch of people, I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I have.

Congratulations for a good looking oval! You get my sympathy regarding how much more expensive it gets when you have to import almost everything, I'm in the same kind of boat. At least since its internet age, sourcing parts got easier than before. Enjoy your ride, while I spend my time bare metal sanding...

I did not use return springs on IDF before, because I think springs may wear the bushing on the carbs. Like original solex carbs worn out on the butterfly rod. After installed IDA, the butterfly did not close fast enough when street driving. I may set up something wrong on the linkage angle??

Hello Sarge, I just bought  "Cal-Look Bible( Japanese one, lots of detail of DKP members' ride)", and I just start to study all of your members histories.  Is this your car?

Thanks, but no... looks like Darren Dugan's car (Hot VW's Feb 2009).  Your throttle "issue" could be a result of the cable guide tube that passes through the fan shroud.  In your pic, the tube has shifted it's way out... try adding a small hose clamp on the back of the shroud to keep the tube in place.
