Well, just got word from the book publishers that there are now no copies of the new book left in the warehouse and that it is to be reprinted already! Woo hoo! I've just made a few corrections, and swapped a photo – oh, and reinstated the missing three lines of text! – so you'll all need to buy another copy to keep up to speed!

The only down side is that there is now a shortage until the new copies come along... Sad

Are the new copies going to have the turn signals shaved off the cover car? Huh

Not wanting to belittle the car on the cover now (except that the turnsignals need shaving), but a new cover would probably make me buy the book a second time (some of us a third time).

Or try getting some in leather hardcover with embossed title, with a sleeve (the new cover), with gold leafed on the side pages and a silkscreened ex libris of a stylised Keith breaking gearboxes by Red Hot from Japan. The texting needs to be in a nice font, preferably in red on the left page and in blue on the opposite page. Only make 50 copies of it and your all set. Can I order now?

The love is here... no worries. That's the first thing I dug about your car when I saw it in person; the fact that it was dechromed and you left the factory turn indicators intact. I did the very same thing with my '66 in '79. I loved it 'cause people were constantly telling me to shave 'em. Because of that, I knew I had done the right thing.

Keith, that's great news regarding your book. Is it too late for two tiny correction requests? I'll send ya a p.m. or an e-mail. Congrats on your success, too. Talk to you soon.

Well, we're going completely off track here, but all in the name of fun... Wink In all seriousness, I actually like Sarge's indicators - fits the era the car was built in. My only real change would be clear lenses.

Anyway, UK book launch? Smiley

No, the first book was, by publishing standards, a flop! It sold really fast to start with then tailed off... Why? There was no major Cal Look revival scene at the time – and no Internet. The new book has the power of the Internet to thank (plus great writing talent, of course).  Grin

Keith

Dr Jeckills idea is really good. Change the cover for the correct book and put the correct red 67 on the front, then people have a choice.

The book with mistake and missing lines and the cheaper red car

of the

Book in its fully glory with the best red car.....

either way change the cover and we would all buy it again....

No ofence intended Sarge  Grin

What Keith doesn't tell you is that 75 copies were printed.
With a second run of 75, that makes a total of 150.

Seriously, congrats Keith!

HAHA!! That's funny, Stephan.

All joking aside, Keith... you're not gonna change the outward appearance of the book, are you? Hopefully, not.

No don't worry. Aside from Photoshopping out the turn signals and 'remodelling' the car in pink to match his eyes, Sarge's car will still grace the cover.
