YES! By all means, DO IT. Karmann Ghias (no matter which year) look great as Cal Lookers. Especially the '69. If it's an American model, simply shave the rear side reflectors and it'll look much better and more like the earlier models.

Good luck with your build and please post pics and updates. Congrats!

stout engine, mild roll bar, over the top stitching on top and seats, already have 4.5 and 6 fuchs, also have a couple of 8s i wonder if i can make them fit.
But would you remove the bumpers to get the look? I dont see many KG on this site with that bad ass type 1 cal look.

i'd say no chromes on the sides or the windows but keep the air intakes, the chrome light surrounds and the bumpers with euro model over-riders... that'd look perfect imo!

Yessss, I love Karman Lookers, not necessary de-chromed, raked, bumper less, hard core cal lookers but look at this stunning Ghia, I believe the owner is from BC, Canada.
I just love the stance, the wheels and the color... IMHO there was never any other car built (even by today’s standards) that looked better to my eyes than the lines, shape of a Karmann Ghia. Granted there are other very nice cars but just look at those lines of a KG. As soon as I sold my Thing I will buy me a Karmann Ghia Convertible Project.

What do you think? Eye Ball Engineering front suspension, narrowed IRS with really fat and wide rubber in the back topped with a nice fuel injected blow through, intercooled 2.3 l turbo?  Tongue

Pancho, it's your car... so there are no rules. For suggestions, however, either straight blade bumpers or inverted t-bars look good. Also, I'd leave the lower body trim since it's non-intrusive and actually adds value to the car, in my opinion. The rear decklid badge removal is your call. I'd leave it, personally. The aged rear end height should do fine and just bring down the front end where you'd like. No narrowed beam, a set of Fuchs 911 wheels, a healthy engine and transmission, and you should end up with one beautiful car.

f%#k that KG is very nice, but i think a vintage lighter color will help those body lines pop.
Metal craft (scott) motor sports is already thinking about the power Shocked i hope we dont go over board like the 356, i want to drive this one to shows.
