Great day (a bit chilly though). Had a lot of fun running into everyone. Got some great advice from Schwimmer and Plummer, thanks guys. Totally fun. Seemed like lots of broken tranny's this year or sumthin'. Great crowd today. Where are all the "young" kids? Or is 90% of the VW crowd an old dude like me and Sarge (no offense Sarge) Are they all Toyko drift fans? Wazzup? Is it me? How about this... does Sarges car get BETTER looking everytime I see it? That, or maybe it's just because I have been staring at it for the last 2 months on the cover of "that" book sitting on my coffee table! And, I ran into a survivor DKK car from the early 80's. Manual (his name) had the original club stickers in the window and everything. This guy has had the oval rag all these years. Told him to get his a$$ on this site and post a few pics for you guys. Peace. Enjoy the pics and hope more are posted.

Wooooo Hoooo..... Good time today!! Nice assessment of the scene, Worm and many thanks for the props. I'm thinkin' that's one of the largest attendances I can recall. The Cape crapped out on me (nooooo problemo: more beer for me) which left me free to take a butt load of pics.....

Hope the Red Baron is OK... I left early and heard nothing of any crash. The size of the turbo on that thing is amazing!

Thanks for the photos guys! Lots of fun today, good people & nice cars. Thankfully, I was able to walk the swap area without buying anything!! Whew, that was close Guys, I think we might need an intervention here... DKK Fred was spotted numerous times hanging around the VW Rat-Rods (just kidding Fred ) After seeing some of those rolling toilets, it really makes you appreciate a well built Cal-Looker. Next stop, Bug-In! ~DR.

The End.... The Red EMPI53 is THE survivor DKK car I was talking about! Great plate. Dave Rosique, thanks for taking on the role of delivery guy for me. Great to (re)meet you. And Sarge those sleds were bad ass. I'm a fan of looking at em' but have zero interest in ever driving/owning one. It was awesome seeing all that early 50's grill and bumper chrome. Whats with the primer car and spending 100's having it pin striped? Too much fun. Peace.

Great stuff, Sarge. Thanks for sharing.
This really made my day;

Why? Simple... I was taking pictures of this car, last year, at the last Drag Day. Something about the car reminded me of years gone by. When Mark Ramirez came by to tell us that he and his son were leaving, he mentioned the green 'vert Ghia and who owned it. I got up and went over to where the Ghia was parked. I was SO stoked to finally find Ernie Baron and have a nice conversation with him after all of these years. He was an early member of D.K.K. and had a gorgeous Sepia Brown late Beetle with 911 alloys. It's cool finding people thirty years later that are still into Cal Look VWs. He wants to start attending the D.K.P. Cruise Nights, too.
One more DEEK that we can add to the reunion.
